As a young adult, I lead a group of teenagers to Haiti for almost 3 months in the summer heat to work on a project to build a school. I had a first hand experience in seeing poverty, how the good Haitian people were striving to get themselves and their families out of this situation. This experience taught me so much about giving, endurance, and how to be an example to others when things were difficult.
The Haitians we worked with decided to build the school before the hospital!
They knew that the way out of poverty is educating their youth!
